Aug. 11, 2010  China will further enhance its cooperation with Vietnam in certification and accreditation to facilitate trade between the two countries, sources reported, citing Sun Dawei, Deputy Director of General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, as saying.

The two countries started certification and accreditation cooperation on motorbikes early in 2002.

The two sides aim to establish diverse cooperation in the field of standards, metrology, certification, import and export product inspection.

The new cooperation will help promote product safety and quality, while reducing testing and certificating costs on trade products between the two countries, said Sun.

China maintained Vietnam's largest trade partner for the past five years. Last year, the bilateral trade value between the two increased 8.2% year on year to US$21 billion. The figure is expected to reach US$25 billion this year.
