Qingming Festival, a traditional festival in China, arrived on April 5 and it was the most important day to offer sacrifice.

It is interesting to talk about the customs and traditions of the Qingming Festival. Besides cold food, no fire, tomb sweeping, willow planting and hiking, sports activities are also done on the Qingming Festival, such as swing, football and polo. It is said that people play sports to make them healthy because they should have cold food and there is no fire on that day. The Qingming Festival is a special day with grief and tears in front of the graves as well as happiness and laughter that go with the hiking.

Every home is decorated with willow in the country in Yiwu. Everyone gets up early and has a walk outside. The glutinous rice is dyed with green juice extracted from a kind of grass and made into Qingming cakes. People sweep the graves and offer sacrifice on the Qingming Festival.

It is learned from some senior citizens in Yiwu that on the Qingming Festival, grandmas or mothers always hold their one-year-old boys in the arms and ask for Qingming cakes, bread and eggs from neighbors with baskets in the country. They often come to the neighbors' house and say "Here comes a little beggar". And the neighbors fill their baskets with Qingming cakes, bread and eggs for good luck.

The Qingming Festival is also called the Hiking Festival, as it always falls on April 4-6 in the solar calendar, which is good time for being close to nature. So people usually have a walk outside on the Qingming Festival.
