One may find a house or an apartment in Yiwu by himself/herself or through a real estate intermediary.
One should avoid renting a house or an apartment if any of the followings applies:
a. No certificate of ownership;
b. The house is sealed up by rulings or decisions of judicial or administrative organization, or housing and land rights are restricted in other ways by these organizations;
c. The house is jointly owned and consent of one or more joint owners is lacking;
d. Ownership is disputed;
e. The building is illegal;
f. The house does not meet safety standards;
g. The house is mortgaged and consent of the mortgagee has not been obtained;
h. The house fails to meet requirements set by public security, environmental protection, health or other competent authorities;
i. The house cannot be rented according to the laws, regulations and rules
