Retail trade volume in the Eurozone remained stable in June compared with the previous month, the European Union's (EU) statistical bureau Eurostat said on Wednesday.

In June, food, drinks and tobacco declined by 0.7 percent in the Eurozone month-on-month, while the non food sector rose by 0.3 percent.

Year-on year, the retail sales index gained 0.4 percent in the euro area.

In the 27-nation EU, the volume of retail trade in June increased by 0.1 percent from May and gained 0.5 percent from the previous year.

Among the EU member states for which data were available, total retail trade in June increased in twelve and declined in seven compared with May.
