According to the report of World Journal published on November 9, 2009, the Governor of Thailand Ministry of Commerce said that Yiwu, China is the largest commodities wholesale center in the world, having customers from 250 countries all over the world with a daily current capital of 287 million yuan, equal to 1.43 baht. Currently, the delegation of the Ministry of Commerce has been sent to Yiwu for market investigation, in order to open the transportation line between Yiwu and Thailand for Thailand food and expand the local market in Thailand.

The Governor pointed out that Yiwu has the biggest processing market for agricultural in China, and activities were held to seek for business partners in China. Now some Chinese companies have expressed their interests in Thailand commodities.

It is also learnt that the Thailand has signed a cooperation contract with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade of Zhejiang Province, for the purpose of enlarge the mutual investment opportunities between China and Thailand.
