More than 4,400 EXhibitors from 35 countries and regions are taking part in two major trade fairs showcasing gifts and packaging produCTS and services.
The HKTDC Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, the largest fair of its kind in the world, opened today and continues through 30 April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Running concurrenTLy, the Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair IS taking place at AsiaWorld Expo.
iAccessories, Designer Brands
Showcasing the latest gift products and trends, the 27th edition of the gift fair welcoMEs more than 4,100 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions, with Sweden a first-time participant. Eighteen group pavilions are taking part, including new country pavilions representing Brunei and Pakistan.
The new iAccessories product zone features gadgets and accessories for smartphones and tablet computers. The popular Hall of Fine Designs returns with high-end items by more than 80 leading designers, including local brands B Duck, Chocolate Rain, green & associates, MC2 by Topchoice, Oowa, Panda-A-Panda and PO.
High-Tech Treasure Hunt
Other product zone highlights include the World of Gift Ideas, Tech Gifts, including mobile entertainment, and Treasure Hunt, displaying the latest electronics products and gadgets, executive gifts, seasonal festive items and toys.
The new Small-Order Zone is another fair feature. It offers thousands of products in a series of showcases at the Expo Drive Entrance, giving buyers a welcome opportunity to place orders in small quantities to test market response.
Market Trends, Networking Opportunities
Fair seminars and product-launch events bring exhibitors and buyers the latest procurement and e-tailing strategies in giftware, trends in fashionable and well-being gifts, and new safety and testing requirements.
The Hong Kong Smart Gifts Design Awards presentation ceremony and networking reception takes place this evening. Awards entries will be displayed at Hall 5E.
The gift fair is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) in Cooperation with the Hong Kong Exporters' Association.
Luxury Packaging, Green Products
The Printing and Packaging Fair welcomes 345 exhibitors from seven countries and regions. Australia and Japan are participating for the first time.
Fair highlights include the new "De Luxe Zone," with exhibitors presenting high-end packaging for such luxury products as watches, jewellery, cosmetics and wine. The inaugural Integrated Packaging Solutions zone features one-stop service for packaging design, material sourcing, labelling, packing and product logistics. The popular Green Printing & Packaging Solutions zone, located in Hall 3, returns with a wide range of sustainable printing and packaging products and eco-friendly consumables.
A series of fair seminars looks at new trends in offset and digital printing, creative packaging, new RFID applications and innovative paper usage.
The Printing and Packaging Fair is organised by the HKTDC and the CIEC Exhibition Company (HK) Ltd.
Exports Climb
In 2011, Hong Kong exported HK$178 billion (US$22.8 billion) in gifts and premiums, up 14 per cent over 2010. Exports of packaging material for industries in 2011 reached HK$31 billion (US$4 billion), up 15 per cent over the previous year.
